Our Link Up curriculum this year will be the Orchestra Moves!
By any definition, music moves. As organized sound, music moves through time. We can perceive music as moving through space from high to low, filling the spaces in between with harmonies, timbres, and textures. Music moves us, evoking a full range of emotional responses, and music compels us to move our bodies and create dance. Through the Link Up repertoire, hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with the Holland Symphony, we will discover all the interwoven ways in which the orchestra moves.
Come join us as we discover the musical patterns in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, play recorder, sing and waltz with the Blue Danube, move and sing with the Toreador from Carmen by Bizet and Cidade Maravilhosa by Andre Filho.
Our Link Up Final Concert will be Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Holland Civic Center.
We will partner with Carnegie Hall to provide:
- Curriculum for the school year including downloadable material, interactive online tools and a printed teacher's guide.
- Curriculum support through out the year.
- Teacher Training in the fall of 2022 and on going as needed.
- Music Mentor visits either to the classroom or by video.
- The culminating concert with full orchestra on Monday, March 20, 2023.
You and your school will provide:
- Teachers and the instruction
- Recorders
- Bussing to the concert
